Company 2 announces they were the recent recipient of a $1000 grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation’s Community Partners Program.  Employees from the New Milford Wells Fargo Bank branch were on hand at our August monthly meeting and presented the ceremonial check. The NMFD Company 2 will be using these funds towards the building of a new monument to honor our fallen and departed firefighters and those firefighters that met the ultimate sacrifice on September 11^th, 2001. The monument will incorporate a 12 foot piece of steel from the World Trade Center provided to us by the Port Authority of NY & NJ. Dedication of the monument is tentatively scheduled for November 27^th.

Company 2 recently sent a care package overseas to the Marines 2^nd Medical Battalion, 2^nd Marine Division. When members found out that JJ Tufaro, son of Assistant Chief James Tufaro was being deployed overseas they wanted to do something to give back to our troops especially one with such close ties to NMFD Company 2. JJ Tufaro is a corpsmen (Navy Paramedic) with the 2^nd Medical Battalion, 2^nd Marine Division of the Marine Corps currently deployed to the middle east. The New Milford Fire Department will be participating in the Northen Valley Fires Chiefs' Parade this Saturday, October 1st in Harrington Park/Norwood.  Parade starts at 10AM.

On Sunday, September 11, 2011, New Milford Fire Company #1 dedicated a memorial to the firefighters who lost their lives responding to the attack on the World Trade Center.  The memorial consisted of actual steel from the fallen towers.  We would like to thank all those present, including the following people who donated time or materials to make this possible:
