This past week the N.M fire Dept along with our Battalion 9 brother and sisters from Oradell and River Edge held an excellent class on Fire Dynamics and flow path along with Thermal Imaging camera usages.

Using a prop structure built by one of the River Edge members Chief Arroyo from the Perth Amboy FD was able to show what fire/smoke flow paths look like in different scenarios and how to read the smoke at fires. He also demonstrated the different types of Thermal imaging cameras and how to properly use them.
It was an excellent class attended by over 80 members which is a great testament to the commitment by the members of the Battalion.

On September 11, 2026, the New Milford Fire Department took part in a solemn ceremony honoring not only the members of the fire service who were lost, but all Americans whose lives were taken in the tragic attacks on 9/11/2001.

This day remains one of the most profound and painful moments in our nation’s history. It is a tragedy that must never be forgotten. As we gathered in remembrance, we reflected on the courage of the first responders, the resilience of survivors, and the countless families whose lives were forever changed.

We continue to pray for all the lives lost and for the families who still carry the weight of that day. Their strength and sacrifice endure as a reminder of the unity and resolve that define our nation.
