The New Milford Fire Department will be participating in the Northern Valley Fires Chiefs' Parade this Saturday, October 6th in Demarest.  Parade starts at 1pm.

Tonight in a sure to be heated contest the New Milford Fire Department Softball Team takes on our neighbors and rivals from Oradell. This game was rescheduled due to a firematic conflict earlier in the season and was supposed to be played at home but instead will be played tonight, under the lights in Oradell at the Doug Parcells Athletic Complex on Ridgewood Ave. Game time is 8pm.

Today at 0744hrs New Milford FD's FAST Team (Firefighter Assist & Search Team) was requested to standby at a structure fire on North Vivian Street in Bergenfield. Truck 31 and Squad 36 along with Chief 30 stood by for approximately 1 hour with 2 members assisting Bergenfield with overhaul. All units returned home safely.

This past Sunday the NMFD Softball team earned the first win of it's inaugural season in a hard fought battle against Wyckoff FD. Both teams walked on the field with an 0-3 record and were vying for their first win of the season. Using superior skill, determination, and plain old sheer luck the NMFD defeated the brothers from Northwestern Bergen County 21-20.  Our next game will be a bitter matchup against our cross river rivals from Oradell, date and time to be announced.

The New Milford Fire Department responded to a structure fire on April 9 at an unoccupied Windsor Road residence shortly before 4:45 p.m.
Upon arrival at the home, located off Duke Road, Engines 32 and 33 quickly extinguished the fire. Oradell Truck Company 21 also responded to the initial alarm due to New Milford's ladder truck being out of service. Bergenfield Fire Department was also at the scene to act as a Rapid Intervention Team in the event that any firefighter was injured.
EMS units from Bergenfield, New Milford and Holy Name Hospital were on the scene as standby, while Dumont Fire Department provided cover-up for the borough.
No injuries were reported.

NMFD Softball fell 21-10 to Saddle Brook FD in the inaugural season opening game. The game was looking close up until the end. All hope isn't lost as this was the first game ever played by NMFD in the Bergen County Firefighter Softball League. With 2 weeks off Head Coach James Favia will be looking to learn from our mistakes against Saddle Brook and make us a formidable opponent for our home opener against Mahwah on April 15th.

While on vacation FF Chris Kerrigan and Lt Jose Tapia stoped by Santiago's main fire station to pay a visit to out Dominican brothers. Captain Luis Ramon Pichardo was kind enough to give Chris and Jose a tour of their station and a quick overview of their operations. Thanks and be safe!

At approx 12:25am Bergenfield Fire Department requested NMFD for a FAST team to respond to their Gavin Place for a working house fire in a vacant 2 1/2 story wood frame home. Tower 31 and Squad 36 responded in under the direction of Capt.  Dave Stormer. Units stood by on scene as their FAST team and assisted with overhaul of the structure. There were no reported injuries and NMFD units returned to HQ at around 3:30am.

The New Milford Fire Department was requested by Oradell on a 2nd Alarm to the 400 block of New Milford Avenue for a reported structure fire. 31 Truck, 34 Engine, Car 39, and Car 30 responded in. 31 Truck assisted with overhaul. The fire was contained and all units returned home safely.
