Earlier tonight companies investigated an odor of burning in the 100 Block of Main St. Upon investigation units found a burning motor on a refrigerator in a second floor apartment. Companies removed the defective unit and the building was turned back over to the occupants.

Yesterday the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, a presence on River Road for quite some time closed its doors. We thank the church and parishioners of Gloria Dei for always continuing to support the New Milford Volunteer Fire Department during their time in town.
31 Truck is currently operating as a mutual aid truck company at a 4th alarm fire in the Borough of Bergenfield
Around 2:00 this afternoon Engine 32 and Engine 33 responded to the 100 block of Fulton street for a reported car fire. The officer of Engine 32 confirmed the car fire and established command while the crew stretched a line to the fire. Engine 33 assisted with extinguishment and overhaul. Public Service Electric was called due to the wires being exposed to the flames. Units operated on scene for under 45 minutes.
