MUTUAL AID RUN TO RIVER EDGE

October 22, 2023

Early this morning before 1:30 am Chief 3-0 deputy 3-02 and Engine 32 responded to River Edge for smoke in a house. Crews found a faulty heating unit on the second floor to be the cause of the smoke. Units operated in River Edge for under an hour before returning to the Borough.

CONGRATS ON FIRE ACADEMY GRADUATION

We are pleased to present the 2022 and 2023 Firefighter 1 graduates. Congratulations to our graduates Dakota Romeo, Tommy Ryan, AJ Teehan, Nick Sinanian and to all the graduates who officially graduated The Bergen County Law and Public Safety Fire Academy tonight held at the Bergen Academies.

You should all be proud of yourselves, your hard work has paid off. Now take the knowledge you’ve learned and put it to good use. Good luck as you start the next chapters of your firefighting careers.

GARAGE FIRE

September 25, 2023

Earlier today companies responded to the 400 block of Luhmann dr. for a fire in a detached garage. First due units arrived on scene and confirmed smoke from the garage. Inside the garage companies found a small fire. The fire was quickly knocked down with a hand line, searches were conducted and proved to be negative. The fire was quickly brought under control. Units were on scene for just over an hour.

Overnight Rollover with Entrapment

September 9, 2023

This morning around the 2 am hour companies were dispatched to the Boulevard and Mannor Pl. for a rollover with entrapment. Deputy 302 arrived on scene and found a 2 car MVC and advised incoming units the the vehicle was on its roof and the occupants were still in the vehicle but uninjured.

Both occupants crawled out of the vehicle through the driver door and were being evaluated by Holy Name EMS.

FD units remained on scene for the vehicle to be uprighted and picked up by the tow companies.

NMFD RESPONDS TO ROLLOVER

September 5th, 2023

Just after 12:00 today we were dispatched to Hoffman ave. and the Boulevard for an auto rollover post crash.

Deputy 302 arrived shortly after confirmed the 2 car MVC rollover with 1 party still trapped inside. Engine Co. 34 arrived on scene, stretched a precautionary line and started vehicle stabilization. Truck Co. 31 arrived, quickly put the Hurst tools to work and provided patient care. Squad 36 assisted and secured the second vehicle. Squad 4 out of River Edge was requested as a precaution and assisted with vehicle extrication.

In total 2 patients were transported to Hackensack Hospital by Holy Name EMS with non life threatening injuries.

New Milford Fire Department responds to a gas leak.

Companies responded today to the intersection of Holland ave. and River rd. for a reported gas line struck. Upon investigation it was found that a contractor struck the gas line in the street and gas was actively venting from the pipe. Public Service Gas arrived and advised that the road was going to have to be dug up in order to fix the gas line. FD units were released by the gas company.

New Milford Fire Fighters complete Training.

We would like to take time from our normal incident posting to congratulate recent graduates Dakota Romeo, AJ Teehan and Tommy Ryan on passing their final exam from the Bergen County Fire Academy.

AJ and Tommy have both been attending the Fire Academy in Mahwah for the last 7 months obtaining their Nationally recognized Firefighter 1 certification.

Dakota attended the Fire academy during the winter/spring and took the accelerated program which was hosted during the day time Monday-Friday 8am to 4pm and now possess his Firefighter 1 certificate and his FIrefighter 2 certificate.

These men along with their classmates receive a wide variety of training from fire suppression, to hazardous materials, to weapons of mass destruction and everything in between.

Dakota, AJ and Tommy welcome to the New Milford Fire Department and the brotherhood. Keep up the good work and never stop training.

Triboro assistance in New Milford, NJ

Tri-Boro companies along with companies from Dumont and Bergenfield responded to 100 block of Clinton Place this morning for a fire on the second floor of the home. The first arriving chiefs were met with a heavy smoke condition coming from the home and a working fire was transmitted. A faulty light fixture was found to be the source of the fire. Fire was brought under control in less than 30 minutes and companies operated on scene for just over 1 hour.
